Teaching Kindergarten is such an exciting job because of the immense growth that happens during a student’s first year in school. My role as a Kindergarten teacher is to help my students develop a love of learning both in and outside of the classroom, while encouraging their social and emotional growth. I want to help my students work collaboratively, build critical thinking skills, and contribute to our classroom community so that it can be a place they feel comfortable asking questions and exploring new ideas. I want my student’s to know they have a choice, feel safe, and know they are loved. This foundation prepares them for a lifetime of learning and success.
I attended Radford University where I received my bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Elementary Education). This is my fourth year at Monterey Elementary.
